November 5

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper." Isaiah 54:17

This day is notable in English history for two great deliverances wrought by God for us. On this day the plot of the Paptists to destroy our Houses of Parliament was discovered, 1605.
While for princes they prepare
In caverns deep a burning snare,
He shot from heaven a piercing ray,
and the dark treachery brought to day.
And secondly-today is the anniversary of the landing of King William III at Torbay, by which the hope of Popish ascendancy was quashed, and religious liberty secured.

Excerpt taken from C. H. Spurgeon "Morning and Evening"

Praise the Lord for His watch care over us and His faithful Word to preserve the Word and His Kingdom.

The close of October

This past Saturday night we were blessed to have the Castleburys and the Greenes over for the evening. We had a wonderful time with everyone. We had fun around the table, games, singing and scripture reading. We were so thankful to be able to fellowship with one another once again. Anyway here are some pictures of the evening....

This weeks update!

This last week we had a wonderful time with Cheriē and Oliver. We miss them so much but Mark is so glad to have them back. We went up to SkyTop Orchard to pick apples one day. Another day we had a lunch for Cheriē's friends and their children. They all came to our house.
I don't know about the moms, but the children sure had a wonderful time: playing store, jumping on the trampoline, and making a big mess upstairs. They had a blast!!
Today I was busy sewing things for the "Holiday Fair". Pren had all four of her wisdom teeth out this morning. So she is laid up right now. I will try to get some pictures up of our time with Oliver and Cheriē.
Until next time..... cK

P.S. Prentiss has completed her CDs... be sure to check her beautiful website out! www.prentisskendall.com

Grandfather's death--and Return

This morning we found out that my grandmother's husband passed into eternity.

I was planning on doing a blog post of the rest of our trip during our layover in Atlanta, but it looks like we will be getting off the plane there to meet my family for the funeral.

So, I will try to post when I can.... We all would appreciate your prayers.

Sailing in Pearl Harbor

Mark, Cherie,  and Christiana

This morning we set sail in the beautiful Pearl Harbor. Chere, Mark, and Christiana went along with a Chaplain's wife in a larger sailboat, and I went with the Chaplains daughter, Jessica who is 13. Jessica and I were in a much smaller sailboat called a Laser. We had a blast.... I got to "man the boat" for a large amount of the time. She and I capsized about 10 times... although only one time was not purposeful. At times when the wind was slow, we would capsize to bring on some activity! Needless to say everyone in the other boat stayed dry!
~~~Thank-you, Linda, for the opportunity!
It was very neat yet sobering to ride on the waters of Pearl Harbor and think of all the people who gave their lives in those waters for our freedom. The USS Missouri, Ford Island, Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin, and Admiral's tour were a view of the historical landmarks in our view.  I do thank the Lord for the freedoms, though fast fleeting, that we still have.
After a picnic we headed back to the little village of Kailua ... and here we spent the afternoon, enjoying one another and walking around town!
Mahalo!
